Being a mom is a full time job in itself, however, being a mum of two children– one a toddler and the other a newborn– takes it to a whole new level!! wheeew 😅😅. This second time around, thankfully has been alot easier, being that I have gone through this once already and have more confidence in what I’m doing. In this post, I will be going over the top newborn products I have been using, some are new and some are repeat items from my first born.
- Water wipes
Water wipes are great, I have been using them on Lore since she was born. Tele being here, I now use them on both of them. They are made up of 99.9% water and about a drop of food extract. This composition is great as it is for kids with sensitive skin, especially newborn skin. Also, the wipes stay wet and super soft which is a mega bonus.
- Crib wedge
The crib wedge is one of my favorites. It’s a must have for any new mommy. I usually just put Tele on the wedge so that after she eats, she isn’t just laying flat. As a mother with a newborn this makes me feel more comfortable as it ensures she doesn’t choke on her spit up. I’m sure a lot of other new moms can relate also.
- Baby brew Bottle Warmer
This product is a must have, especially if you’re a breastfeeding mom and you freeze your milk often. It is a portable, chargeable device that is easy to take anywhere. The device also has a number to show you the temperature of the breast milk. I usually pack the device in my diaper bag and I’m good to go!
- Graco Pack ‘n Play Change ‘n Carry Playard – Manor
I’ve had the Change ‘n Carry Playard since Lore and loved it so much, I just had to use it for Tele also. It’s convenient and has a part where you can change your baby’s diaper and another compartment where you can lay the baby down to sleep, play, etc.
- Mustela Gentle Cleansing Gel Baby Body Wash and Baby Shampoo – 16.9 fl oz
This Baby Body Wash and Baby Shampoo is great, it’s formulated in a way to be gentle, preserving the natural oils in your baby’s hair and skin while also ensuring you have a clean baby. It’s gentle, tear free, and protects against dry skin also.
- Mustela Hydra Bebe Baby Body Lotion
This Lotion is amazing, I used it on Lore when she was still a newborn and now I use it on Tele also. It’s super gentle which ensures that your baby’s skin doesn’t react to any of the products compared to other brands that can be harsh on their skin.
- 4moms mamaRoo 4 5 Unique Motions Bluetooth Enabled Baby Swing – Silver Plush
This swing is great, I usually put Tele in this to make her more calm and settle her down before a nap, I then transfer her to a baby cot where she can take an actual nap as it can be dangerous leaving her in there to sleep. Personally, after she sleeps, I take her out to put in the pack n play mentioned earlier.
- Dr. Brown’s® Options+™ Feeding Bottles Gift Set
This bottle set is amazing, I used it when Lore was a baby and I am now using it on Tele also. It makes for a comfortable feeding set and is clinically proven to reduce colic and reduce spit-up, burping, and gas.
- Nested Bean® Zen One™ Classic Swaddle in Sand
This swaddle is amazing, once I started using it Tele started sleeping a lot better. It has a weighted top that helps the baby sleep well and also a compartmentside to strap the baby in to help self soothe. There are different positions you can put your baby in and if you don’t want him/her to swaddle you can let the baby’s arm out also.
- Burt’s Bees MultiPurpose Baby Ointment – 7.5oz
Lore didn’t have as much cradel cap, however, Tele has quite a few on her eyebrows, nose, and forehead which is surprising as I didn’t know babies could get them on any other places besides their scalp. This product is great nonetheless and has really been helping me manage them on Tele.
- Fridababy DermaFrida The FlakeFixer 3-Step Cradle Cap System
This product is great to use in combination with Burt’s Bees Baby Ointment. With Tele, I usually first comb out the flakes using the comb, then exfoliate the scalp, before finally using the sponge to buff everything out.
- Burt’s Bees Baby Shampoo & Wash, Calming – 21oz
This is another Burt’s Bees product that just works great for me. I use it in combination with the ointment. It has a great smell and is gentle on the skin making it perfect for newborns!
- Papablic Baby Bottle Electric Steam Sterilizer and Dryer – Walmart.com
I used this same bottle sterilizer when I had Lore. It is a standard bottle sterilizer, I use it to sterilize my pumping parts also. It’s really large so you can fill it with a lot of stuff to sterilize everything at a time and stay organized.
- Dreft Stage 1: Newborn Liquid Laundry Detergent
I’ve been using the laundry detergent since Tele was born, I had also previously used it religiously on Lore also. It is very gentle and Tele has no reaction to it when I use it.
